フリクリ (FLCL): The WTF Zone

I catch a lot of waves later than everyone else, so I usually know a bit about them ahead of time. FLCL, so I heard, was bizarre, zany, and intriguing. After watching the first episode, I, er, don’t really know what to make of it. Iny given 3 seconds of it sort of make sense, but those 3 seconds are pretty likely to have absolutely nothing to do with the 3 seconds prior or following. It’s sort of short attention-span TV, and very self-referential, self-conscious, and generally fourth-wall-bending. I have more questions at this point than answers, but what I have to wonder is: will watching the other five episodes increase or decrease my net confusion? Well, at least it’d be a small enough time investment, might as well give it a whirl. Reports on slowly dawning comprehension or lack thereof will likely follow.
